How you're helping

Ivy, Iris and Jude were brought to our Cotswolds Cat Centre by a kind farmer who discovered them on his land. It’s believed they were abandoned, most likely as a result of being considered too old for breeding, as they are all of the Russian Blue variety.

It soon became apparent to our team that Ivy would need a lot more care than the other two cats. She was underweight, her coat was in poor condition, her teeth were decaying, and she was suffering with a painful ear infection.

Sadly, she was also struggling to walk normally on her hind legs, probably the result of overbreeding or being kept in cramped conditions. Thankfully, following a thorough examination, her legs were found to be in good health, with the hope that they would improve with time. Ivy also needed urgent surgery for polyps caused by her ear infection. The surgery was successful, but she developed pneumonia as a result of her weakened immune system and needed a course of antibiotics.

Ivy, Iris and Jude clearly hadn’t been receiving the kindness, love and respect they deserve. However, thanks to support like yours, all three cats made remarkable recoveries and are now enjoying life in loving new homes. Ivy’s new owner, Terence, had this to say about the new addition to their family: “Ivy finds a sunny spot to sleep during the day, and when we’re asleep, we can hear her playing with ping-pong balls. She has settled more quickly than we expected. She’s a fantastic cat; we’re so pleased we have her.”
